Let’s start with the role
As a Junior Software Engineer in Test at Kaizen Gaming, you'll play an integral role within an autonomous Agile team, collaborating closely with Product Owners, Agile Delivery Leads, and Software Engineers, to enhance our software quality and improve the online customer experience. You will utilize a tech stack that includes C#, Playwright, Specflow (BDD), GitLab, Jira, and Report Portal to automate testing processes, manage test cases, and generate comprehensive test reports, ultimately contributing to our competitive edge. In order to shine, you'll need to embody a team-player mentality, possess a proactive attitude, and exhibit exceptional communication skills.
- Craft effective test plans and develop both manual and automated test cases by reviewing user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with the development team.
- Actively engage in scrum ceremonies to allocate test cases in alignment with the test pyramid philosophy.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities to ensure seamless integration within the development process.
- Own the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) for new features, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery through technical leadership.
- Stay at the forefront of testing tools, methodologies, and trends, enhancing and evolving our practices and processes.
What you’ll bring
To thrive as a Junior Software Engineer in Test with us, you don't need to be a seasoned pro, but you should definitely have:
- Education: A degree (BS/MS) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related IT field. We're interested in your foundational knowledge.
- Hands-on Experience: While you might not have decades of experience, having spent at least 1 year as a Software Engineer in Test gives you a good start.
- Coding Confidence: You should be comfortable with programming concepts, and if you're familiar with object-oriented programming (C# would be awesome), that's even better.
- Testing Basics: We're looking for someone who gets the gist of software QA – you know about testing methods, tools, and processes.
- Web/API Tools: Hands-on experience with web browser and API automation tools,, shows us that you're no stranger to making technology work for you.
- Database Know-How: You don't need to be a database guru, but having some experience with relational databases (like SQL) will be quite useful.
- Agile Understanding: We value your initial familiarity with Agile and Scrum and your ability to collaborate effectively with product teams to understand their needs and keep projects on track.
- Curiosity Counts: If you're naturally curious and enjoy learning, you're exactly the kind of person we're looking for.
- English Communication: Communicating fluently in English (both writing and speaking) helps us connect better as a global team.
