Let's start with the role

The Country Manager will be the primary growth driver for the Swedish market and Kaizen Gaming’s key representative for this territory. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, driving, coordinating, executing, and monitoring Betano’s strategy for the Swedish market.

As a Country Manager  you will:
  • Hold full accountability for the Swedish market's P&L, ensuring the delivery of results in accordance with set budgets and targets, as well as managing weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact  for the Swedish Gambling Authority regarding operational matters,
  • Drive the commercial growth of the Swedish market while maintaining a strict balance with Responsible Gaming (RG) and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct and coordinate market research, business plan preparation, budget formulation, and go-to-market strategies, while maintaining in-depth knowledge of the Swedish online market, including competitive and regulatory developments.
  • Act as the primary Betano spokesperson for the Swedish market and serve as the main contact person for dedicated operations and product development teams.
  • Ensure a smooth, transparent flow of information and communication between the dedicated Swedish market team and central HQ functions.
  • Align with the Marketing Manager and HQ on the Swedish marketing strategy and brand positioning, ensuring it is executed in accordance with P&L guardrails, while overseeing marketing budget allocation.
  • Ensure the dedicated market team works strictly according to the Betano campaign planning process, contributing campaign ideas, marketing briefs, and comprehensive campaign review deliverables.
  • Oversee the Swedish content strategy, provide direct input to the content execution team, and maintain overall ownership of the site, localized customer experience, and customer satisfaction for Betano Sweden.
  • Partner with central analysts and the Business Intelligence (BI) team to follow up on and analyze all marketing activities to ensure they remain in line with budgets and targets, ensuring clear reporting and proactive action plans to counter any underperforming results.
  • Manage the team structure, recruitment, and retention for the dedicated Swedish market team in Malta, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Utilize international best practices and share Swedish market insights to continuously improve Kaizen’s overall marketing and CRM execution, ensuring learnings are optimized effectively across all markets.

What you’ll bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar country management or senior commercial role, ideally within the iGaming industry.
  • Proven success managing a P&L, budget forecasting, and commercial implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, recruiting, and developing high-performing, dedicated market teams.
  • Proven track record of working effectively in international environments across cross-functional, distributed teams.
  • Solid understanding of iGaming Marketing, CRM, and Swedish player behavior/consumer trends.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively  across remote and central teams, and specifying localized product/operational requirements in a performance-driven way.
  • Customer-focused, passionate, hands-on, and an excellent executor with a strong business and growth mindset.
  • Native or professional fluency in Swedish and an excellent command of English.
