Let's start with the role

Working within the Corporate Communications team, you will act as a central liaison between the department and the Finance division. As a Financial Controller, you will own the end-to-end budget controllership across Corporate Communications, CSR, Kaizen Foundation and Internal Communications expenditure, ensuring full visibility of commitments, accruals and forecast spend at all times. 

You will bring financial discipline and governance to a busy, expanding, and creative team, translating Finance requirements into practical day-to-day processes for people without a financial background. 

You will communicate frequently with Finance, Procurement, Accounts, Corporate Communications Executives across countries, and other key stakeholders, ensuring all parties are aligned and that budget targets are set, tracked, and met. 

As a Controller, Corporate Communications you will:
  • Own end-to-end monitoring of actual, committed, and forecast expenditure across Corporate Communications, CSR, Kaizen Foundation and Internal Communications budgets.    
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date visibility of budget consumption and remaining available funds across all spending areas. 
  • Partner with Procurement and Finance teams to ensure timely processing and control of supplier engagements and payments.
  • Identify financial risks, budget overruns, and uncommitted liabilities, escalating issues proactively.  
  • Support the development of operating and financial plans  required to achieve management’s strategic plan and work closely with key internal stakeholders. 
  • Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and contribute to business planning processes in close collaboration with key internal stakeholders. 
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, approval authorities, and financial control requirements. 
  • Produce monthly spend governance reports highlighting actuals, commitments, forecast spend and budget utilization. 
  • Prepare quarterly reports and analysis, including explanations, corrective actions, and insights, aligned with business and Finance leadership. 

What you’ll bring

  • Degree in Finance/ Accounting.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in a FP&A/ Reporting / Controlling function.
  • Good analytical skills gained through finance education and good understanding of reporting processes structure and systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language, both oral and written.
  • Computer literate and Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: writing macros, creating pivot tables, graphs and charts
  • Experience with ERP systems and planning Tools 
  • Strong communication skills, team player
  • CIMA, CIA, CMA, ACCA, or ACA qualification will be considered an additional asset
