Analytics Engineer

As an Analytics Engineer at Kaizen Gaming, you’ll be at the heart of our data-driven initiatives,  working on the silver and gold layers of our medallion architecture. Your role is integral to enhancing our four core elements: discoverability, security, quality, and data observability.

As an Analytics Engineer, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and transformation pipelines using Databricks, SQL, and dbt.
• Translate business requirements into reliable, reusable, and production-ready data solutions.
• Apply best practices in data modelling, testing, documentation, and data quality.
• Own the reliability of your data products, investigating issues and continuously improving existing solutions.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, and business teams to deliver trusted data solutions.
• Contribute to engineering practices around code quality, version control, peer reviews, and CI/CD.

What you'll bring:

• 3+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a similar data-focused role.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with complex, large-scale datasets.
• Hands-on experience with dbt and Databricks.
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT and modern data architectures, with hands-on experience building data models for reporting and analytics.
• Comfortable with GitLab and Git branching, merging, and version-control workflows.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and modern coding practices to improve productivity and code quality.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and commitment to data quality.
• Good communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience with Dagster or other orchestration tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is a plus.
