Senior Compliance Officer

Let’s start with the role

The purpose of the role is to provide ongoing compliance and regulatory support, on an in-house engagement basis, to support and facilitate the full spectrum of the daily operations for the Portuguese branch.

As a Senior Compliance Officer you will:

• Maintain legal and regulatory compliance by researching and communicating terms, conditions, and requirements, creating action plans, and obtaining prior approvals, licenses, and permissions when necessary.
• Handle administrative procedures and litigations with the Legal Team.
• Support the Senior Compliance Manager to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met within the local branch, ensuring effective delivery of legal and regulatory compliance programs.
• Prepare periodic reports regarding legal and regulatory status, requirements and action plans.
• Prepare formal responses to questions and investigations conducted by various bodies and authorities.
• Conduct analysis of the Pôrtuguese online Gambling market from a legal and regulatory perspective and present them to the management.
• Facilitate compliance audits performed by regulatory authorities, and external auditors.
• Promote legal and regulatory compliance culture throughout the company through training.
• Conduct regulatory research by reviewing regulatory bulletins and other relevant sources of information; 
• Develop and support regulatory policies through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, incorporating future trends and real facts; 
• Perform risk assessments and internal audits with regards to legal and regulatory compliance requirements across operational, technical and support processes

What you’ll bring:

• Degree in Law;
• Knowledge of fraud and risk procedures (Payments, AML, Regulatory risks) is a plus;
• Relevant experience of 4 -7 years in gaming or other heavily regulated industry;
• Proficiency  in managing regulatory requirements and interfacing with regulators; 
• Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment; 
• Exceptional analytical capabilities; 
• Strong interpersonal,communication and presentation skills; 
• A tech-oriented mindset and passion for innovation in the industry are highly valued attributes;
• Familiarity with user management tools (Jira, Confluence);
• Experience working in a team;
• Availability to travel if necessary;
• Fluency in English.
