Let's start with the role
As a Data Governance Analyst, you will be a key member of the Data Governance team, supporting the design and implementation of a robust data governance framework across the organization. You will work closely with both business and technical stakeholders to ensure the quality, consistency, availability, and compliance of data—critical in the highly regulated betting and gaming industry.
As a Data Governance Analyst, you will:
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support the implementation of metadata management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
- Monitor and analyze data quality KPIs and support data remediation initiatives.
- Maintain and enhance business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data catalogs.
- Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, and custodians to promote data governance best practices.
- Assist with compliance-related data initiatives (e.g., GDPR, AML, Responsible Gaming reporting).
- Identify and document data quality issues and propose corrective actions.
- Evaluate and support data governance tools (e.g., Atlan, Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview).
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research or related field).
- 2+ years of experience in a data quality, data management, reporting, statistical or quantitative role. Experience in data governance roles will be considered a plus.
- Understanding of core data governance concepts and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to clearly document technical and business concepts.
- Relevant experience with BI/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) will be considered a plus.
- Strong SQL skills, highly advanced with MS-Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and Gsuite experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. Experience managing stakeholders at various levels.
- Strong analytical mindset, with attention to detail and a commitment to data quality. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, meet deadlines and identify opportunities with limited oversight, while aligning with business goals.
