Let's start with the role

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and executing payroll processes in compliance with local regulations in Ghana. This role ensures accurate and timely salary payments, tax compliance, and benefit deductions while maintaining payroll records and handling employee inquiries. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of Ghanaian payroll regulations and labor laws.

 As an HR Operations Specialist, you will:
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees in Ghana and other markets assigned, including salaries, benefits, bonuses, and deductions;
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with local tax laws, social security, and labor regulations;
  • Process new hires, terminations, salary changes, and other payroll-related adjustments;
  • Ensure payroll processes comply with local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies;
  • Prepare and submit monthly and annual payroll reports to relevant authorities, including tax agencies and social security offices.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing clear and timely resolutions.
  • Maintain and update payroll software or HRIS with employee salary details, deductions, and adjustments.
  • Identify and implement payroll process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 

What you will bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of payroll experience, preferably in Ghana or a multinational company.
  • Strong understanding of Ghanaian tax laws, SSNIT, and labor regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
