Senior Compliance Officer (Africa)

Let's start with the role

The purpose of this role is to analyze regulatory compliance requirements and perform internal activities in order to:

• Act as the main Regulatory Compliance representative for the company to stakeholders regarding African markets.
• Provide advice and ensure regulatory compliance for assigned markets in the Africa Region.
• Promote understanding of the regulatory landscape company-wide, from top management to daily operations.
• Provide solutions and identify opportunities that support local and international business development. 
• Promote and support strategic and business priorities from a regulatory compliance perspective.
• Maintain legal and regulatory compliance by researching and communicating requirements, creating action plans, and obtaining approvals.
• Develop and support regulatory policies after consulting with internal and external stakeholders and incorporating future trends and market realities.
• Propose strategic approaches to regulatory compliance at the local level in each country of operation, ensuring alignment with company-wide compliance plans.
• Liaise with Independent Authorities, Governmental and non-governmental authorities, Law enforcement agencies, and other companies to promote the company’s interests.
• Represent the company in official matters with public or private authorities.
• Conduct risk assessments and internal audits with regards to legal and regulatory compliance requirements on operational, technical, and support processes.
• Prepare reports regarding regulatory requirements and action plans.
• Draft formal responses to inquiries and investigations conducted by various authorities.
• Facilitate compliance audits performed by regulatory authorities.
• Build networks within the industry through local associations, participate in local compliance groups and assess the best interests of the company.

What you'll bring:

• Degree in Law/ Political Sciences.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in gaming or another heavily regulated industry.
• Proven experience managing regulatory requirements and liaising with regulators.
• Project management and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Tech orientation and a passion for innovation and the industry are a strong plus.
