Let’s start with the role
The Release Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of software and infrastructure releases across the organization. Focusing on day-to-day operational activities, the Release Coordinator ensures releases run smoothly, reduces business disruption, and helps deliver value by executing release plans, maintaining release pipelines, and enabling cross-team communication. The role emphasizes reliable execution, adherence to procedures, and continuous improvement through routine checks and small automation or process optimizations.
- Provide ongoing written and verbal release status updates to various stakeholders.
- Coordinate release testing, defect tracking,and resolution;
- Review and validate the day's release schedule and runbook; confirm scope, timelines, and rollback plans;
- Communicate release status and readiness to stakeholders (Developers, QA, Ops, Product, Support) via standups, chat, and status boards;
- Coordinate and facilitate release-related meetings (pre-release checks, go/no-go, deployment windows, post-release review);
- Trigger, monitor, and verify automated pipelines and deployments; surface and escalate any failures immediately;
- Execute manual deployment steps or approvals when required and confirm successful completion of each step;
- Manage and update release tracking artifacts (tickets, JIRA/SDLC boards, change calendar) and keep release notes current;
- Validate post-release health: run smoke tests, monitor alerts/dashboards, and confirm systems and services are stable;
- Triage incidents tied to the release, coordinate quick remediation or rollback, and communicate impact and resolution status;
- Collect and log release metrics (lead time, deployment success rate, incidents) and surface trends or blockers to the Release Manager;
- Maintain and enforce release policies, checklists, and compliance requirements for each release.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a release operations role in a large multinational organization;
- Experience in release management tools (JIRA, Portfolio, Confluence) and agile/waterfall software development methodologies;
- Good experience with deployment tools and methodologies and CI/CD pipelines;
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and deployment as well as containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) will be considered a plus;
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, results-oriented, willing to take responsibility and accept accountability for action;
- Flexibility, comfortable with ambiguity, having a sense of urgency;
- Experience in the gametech industry will be considered a plus;
- ITIL certification preferred;
- Fluency in speaking and writing English.
