As a highly experienced and strategic leader, the Accounting Operations Manager for Latin America will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all accounting operations for Kaizen Gaming (Betano) across the region, with a primary focus on Brazil. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this position is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of financial reporting, driving process improvements, and providing critical financial insights to support strategic decision-making in our rapidly expanding and dynamic multinational online gaming environment. This role is crucial for our continued growth and success in the vibrant Latin American market.
As an Accounting Operations Manager, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team across various Latin American markets, fostering a culture of excellence, high performance, and continuous improvement;
- Define departmental goals, allocate resources effectively, and ensure team performance aligns with global and regional organizational objectives;
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets;
- Review and validate financial statements, balance sheets, trial balances, and comprehensive management reports for accuracy and compliance;
- Ensure strict compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (e.g., BR GAAP) across all Latin American entities, particularly Brazil;
- Supervise the accurate calculation, reporting, and payment of direct and indirect taxes (e.g., ICMS, PIS, COFINS, IRPJ, CSLL), as well as all ancillary tax obligations, ensuring adherence to complex and evolving Brazilian and regional tax legislation;
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with accounting processes;
- Collaborate with various departments (e.g., Commercial, Marketing, Operations) to ensure integrated and accurate financial data for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning;
- Drive initiatives for continuous process improvement, leveraging technology and automation (e.g., RPA, advanced ERP functionalities) to enhance efficiency;
- Act as a primary liaison for internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations to ensure successful audit outcomes.
What you will bring:
- Fluency both in English and Portuguese;
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- An active professional accounting certification (e.g., CRC - Conselho Regional de Contabilidade);
- Post-graduate qualification or MBA in Controlling, Finance, or a related area;
- Profound knowledge of IFRS and expert-level understanding of BR GAAP;
- In-depth understanding of Brazilian tax legislation (corporate income tax, indirect taxes, ancillary obligations) and regional tax frameworks;
- Previous experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics);
- Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities, with a proven track record of motivating, empowering, and managing high-performing teams remotely and locally;
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting stringent deadlines in a demanding environment;
- Spanish proficiency is a significant plus.
